The Empowr Method is operated by Sebastian Curtis, a sole trader trading as The Empowr Method (“we”, “our”, “us”).

Sebastian Curtis is the data controller responsible for the personal information we collect and use to operate our business.

This policy explains how we handle your information when you visit our website, contact us, subscribe to our newsletter or participate in our programmes.

Depending on how you use our services, we collect:

• Purchase, payment-plan, transaction and refund records.
• Account information and programme activity, such as enrolment and lesson progress.
• Messages, questions, comments and other information you choose to share with us.

• Technical information processed by our website and service providers, such as IP address, browser information and security logs.

Payment details are entered through our payment providers’ secure systems. Please do not send card details to us by email.

Information needed to create your account and process your purchase is required to provide the programme. Newsletter signup is optional.

3. How and Why We Use Your Information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

Providing programmes and managing purchases

We use your information to process orders, manage payments, provide programme access and send essential enrolment and service messages. Our lawful basis is performing our contract with you, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Responding to enquiries and providing support

We use your information to answer questions and support your participation. Depending on the enquiry, our lawful basis is fulfilling our contract or our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.

Keeping business records

We retain transaction information to meet accounting, tax and other legal requirements. Our lawful basis is compliance with legal obligations.

Protecting and managing our services

We use relevant information to maintain security, prevent fraud, resolve disputes and keep our services functioning. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable business.

Newsletters and optional updates

We send newsletters where you have opted in. Our lawful basis is consent. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us.

Purchasing a programme does not require you to subscribe to our newsletter. Unsubscribing does not prevent essential messages about your purchase or programme access.

4. Who Receives Your Information

We share information where necessary with providers that support our services, including:

• Kajabi, which hosts our website, checkout, learning platform and email communications.
• Kajabi Payments and the payment providers involved in your chosen payment method, which process payments and refunds.
• Proton Mail, which we use for email correspondence.
• Website security and infrastructure providers, including Cloudflare, where used to protect the website.
• Authorities or professional advisers where disclosure is legally required or necessary to resolve a dispute.

Some providers process information on our behalf. Others, including payment providers and Kajabi for certain platform-generated information, may also act as independent data controllers under their own privacy notices.

We do not sell your personal information or provide our customer mailing list to others for their own marketing.

Comments posted in programme discussion areas may be visible to other participants with access to those areas. Please avoid posting sensitive information you do not wish others to see.

5. International Processing

Some providers process information outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States.

Kajabi’s Data Processing Addendum describes its international processing arrangements and contractual safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. How Long We Keep Information

We retain information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy.

• Programme accounts and activity: while needed to provide your programme access and support, and afterwards where necessary for legal obligations or disputes.
• Purchase and tax records: normally for at least five years after the 31 January tax-return submission deadline for the relevant tax year, or longer where legally required.
• Enquiries and correspondence: for as long as needed to answer the enquiry, provide support and retain relevant records of our dealings.
• Newsletter information: while you remain subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we may retain a minimal record of your preference to prevent unwanted emails and demonstrate compliance.

When deciding retention periods, we consider the information’s purpose, sensitivity, legal requirements and whether it remains necessary. Information no longer needed will be deleted or anonymised.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. Websites may also use local storage or session storage to remember information.

Our website and platform use these technologies for functions such as security, login sessions, checkout and remembering preferences.

Website security

A scan of our public homepage identified Cloudflare’s __cf_bm cookie, which helps distinguish human visitors from automated bots. It normally expires after approximately 30 minutes of inactivity.

Remembering the website notice

Our website notice uses a local-storage entry called empowr_cookie_consent to remember when you click “OK”. Despite its name, this records dismissal of the notice; it does not control optional tracking or constitute consent to all cookies. It remains until cleared from your browser or removed by the website.

Analytics and advertising

We currently have no enabled Google Analytics or Meta Pixel integrations. Kajabi may process platform usage and technical information as described in its own privacy notice. This is separate from the analytics integrations we choose to enable.

Cookies and storage can differ between public pages, checkout and logged-in programme areas. Our homepage scan is not a complete inventory of every area.

Where cookies or similar technologies require consent, they must not be used without that consent. Any applicable consent exception must meet its legal conditions.

You can manage cookies and website storage through your browser settings. Blocking essential technologies may affect login, payment or programme access.

8. Protecting Your Information

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including secure service providers and restricting access to information where it is needed.

No online system can guarantee absolute security. Please keep your account credentials private and contact us if you suspect unauthorised access.

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:

• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Request deletion.
• Restrict how information is used.
• Receive certain information in a portable format.
